Durban’s beachfront will come alive on Sunday, 18 October 2026, when thousands of runners take to the streets for the Boxer Super Run. To ensure the safety of participants, spectators and other road users, temporary road closures and traffic restrictions will be implemented along the route.

The race will start on Snell Parade, near the Blue Lagoon, and head towards Suncoast. Runners will then turn right into Battery Beach Road, followed by a right turn into the southbound lane of Masabalala Yengwa Avenue. At Moses Mabhida Stadium, the route turns right onto the promenade before runners make their way back along the beachfront to the finish venue at the Blue Lagoon Lawns.

Music and entertainment will take place at the venue and along the route between 06h30 and 14h00. Road-closure preparations will begin from 03h00 on race day, with the route expected to be clear by 12h30.

Metro Police officers and event marshals will manage traffic and assist road users throughout the event to help ensure the safety of participants, spectators and the public.

“The safety of our runners, spectators and road users is our priority,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “We encourage everyone travelling in the area to plan ahead, take note of the temporary closures and allow extra time for their journeys.”

Lee-Ann Pillay, Head of Marketing at Boxer Superstores, says the team is looking forward to another memorable Boxer Super Run in Durban while appreciating the public’s patience and support.

“We’re excited to bring the Boxer Super Run back to Durban and create another memorable morning on the beachfront,” says Pillay, Head of Marketing at Boxer Superstores. “We appreciate the public’s patience and support as we create a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.”

The following temporary road closures and lane restrictions will be implemented on Sunday, 18 October 2026, for the duration of the event:

Snell Parade between Athlone Street & Battery Beach Road – Full closure – closed 03h00
Battery Beach Road between Snell Parade & Masabalala Yengwa Avenue – Lane closure: swimming pool-side lanes in the direction of Snell Parade – closed 03h00
Masabalala Yengwa Avenue (Southbound) between Battery Beach Road & entrance to promenade opposite Moses Mabhida Stadium – Lane closure: southbound lane – closed 03h00
