SA20 Fan Guide to Stadium Experiences

20 December 2025 by Guest

A shirt guide to what spectators can expect at the six Betway SA20 venues during the Betway SA20 Season 4.

With less than one week remaining before the exhilarating 34 Betway SA20 matches get underway on Boxing Day, December 26 in Cape Town, the six participating stadiums are completing their final preparations to serve up a competition to remember.

Each venue is striking in its own right. The two picturesque Western Cape venues Newlands and Boland Park boast stunning mountain views, while in Gqeberha the St George’s Park brass band gets everyone in the groove.

Durban’s Kingsmead is an exotic explosion before travelling up north to the Highveld where the Wanderers’ Bullring is a coliseum-like experience as no other. Last but certainly not least, Centurion is a truly South African ground with the braai clouds emanating from the grass banks hovering above.

These venues will not only provide stunning backdrops, but have put together spectacular in-stadium experiences to keep the fans fully entertained both on and off the field.

KINGSMEAD

The home of Durban’s Super Giants (DSG) will be a hive of activity for the five group stage matches and Playoff held at the stadium. Fans attending matches this side of the year will be treated to the festive cheer, with ‘Santa’ making his rounds spreading the holiday magic to spectators and a mega DSG Fan Christmas tree decorating the concourse.

The festivities will also continue into the new year, making Kingsmead the place to be for young and old.

The famous ‘Dunk Tank’ is also back on the East Grass Stand, while spectators will also have the opportunity to create and share their memories at the 360-degree camera.

Fans will also have an opportunity to meet the mascot ‘Super Sam’ and the players at the signing session after the match.

WANDERERS

Joburg Super Kings (JSK) will be ushering in the New Year with their first home match taking place on 1 January 2026. The Wanderers will have certain feature matches giving spectators a mixed bag of activities throughout the JSK home matches.

For the match on 3 January, fans can look forward to ‘Bingo at the Bullring’ , a bingo game for the entire stadium, with tons of prizes and merchandise on the cards for the ‘full house’.

The 17th of January will be a ‘Schools Day out at Wanderers’ where war cries, uniforms and school activities will be the order of the day.

Leo the mascot will once again be bringing the vibes and entertainment for the younger fans at all the JSK home matches. The lively whistles return to ramp up the atmosphere while the flags turn the Wanderers into a sea of yellow love.

NEWLANDS

The fortress of defending champions MI Cape Town will be a hive of activity as it prepares to host major fixtures including the opening game, New Year’s Eve and the Final on 25 January.

In true Cape Town style, fans are encouraged to bring their own style with a “Best Dressed Fan” to be announced on the ground during the mid-innings break. Hampers and hospitality ticket giveaways await the winner.

Newlands’ MC Dalin Oliver will also be keeping the crowd entertained with his unique Cape Town-style humour, while also hosting the popular catch contest during the break.

The young fans will have an opportunity to get the free flags and cheer items distributed on the concourse signed by the players during the post-match signing session.

BOLAND PARK

Paarl Royals fans are in for a treat with the opportunity to get up close and personal with their heroes with player signing sessions scheduled post-match each game.

Supporter flags will be handed out at each of the five matches. The Boland faithful will also have an array of merchandise selection from the stalls around the ground.

CENTURION

The Pretoria Capitals are not only aiming to make a splash out on the field with their new-look team and coaching staff, but the in-stadium activations have been elevated to a new level.

A “Fan of the Match” will be selected at each of the five home matches, while a Lucky Seat winner will also be announced with a merchandise hamper on offer.

The Machaka Band is also back again to keep the gees going, while fans will have the opportunity to write postcards to the players which will be read out on the big screen.

There will be a dedicated Kid Zone, as well as the popular Dunk Tank on the embankment.

There is loads more on offer including free food and beverage coupons, a photobooth and endless entertainment for the whole family.

ST GEORGE’S PARK

The old cricket ground in South Africa will be the ultimate Betway SA20 experience with the famous brass band beating out the tunes on the old stand to bring all the vibes.

The Orange Army will be dancing on the old stand again, dressed in full fan regalia after picking up their T-shirt giveaways whilst waving their flags.

Face painting will also be on offer for the fans to enhance their experience.

LEAGUE ACTIVATIONS

All the individual franchise entertainment will be supported by the popular Betway SA20 League activations and competitions consisting of the Kiss Cam, Dance Cam and the Bucket Hat Shuffle on the scoreboard at all six stadiums. New to this season, will be the K-Pop Cam, where spectators can channel their inner Demon Hunters.

The concourse will be buzzing with energy, decorated by stilt walkers handing out balloons and bubble guns, face painting, bucket hat distribution and the SA20 Kids Corner.

There will also be special Christmas hats and New Year glasses giveaways at marquee matches on December 26, December 31 and January 1.

Betway SA20’s incredible partners are also giving fans chances to win plenty of prizes at every stadium.

The ever-popular Betway’s Catch R2 Million competition is back with fans able to claim a share of the prize for every clean one-handed catch taken.

Absa cardholders can win up to R200 000 at every live Betway SA20 match as well ticketing discounts.

Switch will be giving away R5000 at each match, and Castle Lite is back with their spin-and-win wheel.

Gates open 3 hours before the start of each match. All young fans are invited onto the field for the first hour after gates open. Kids are encouraged to bring a bat and soft ball, giving them a unique chance to play, explore and be part of the action before the match begins (Weather dependent).

Tickets are selling fast and are available at www.SA20.co.za or the six stadium ticket offices.
