PRETORIA – The South African Furniture Removals Alliance (SAFRA) has unveiled an upgraded website featuring easier navigation, online moving inventories and an improved furniture removals leads management system for participating service providers.

The improvements aim to simplify the quotation process for South Africans planning household or office relocations while helping removal companies manage enquiries more effectively.

These upgrades form part of SAFRA’s renewed focus on strengthening its established online platform, which has connected consumers with furniture removal companies nationwide since 2011.

A Simpler Way to Request Furniture Removal Quotes

Getting moving quotations can be time-consuming, particularly when customers need to explain their requirements to several removal companies. Furniture volumes, collection and delivery addresses, access restrictions and additional services all influence how a removal company assesses a move.

SAFRA’s redesigned website provides easier access to moving information, planning tools and its online quotation service.

Visitors can request 4–6 moving quotes by submitting their moving details through one online form, rather than contacting multiple companies individually.Once submitted, the request is shared with relevant service providers, who can contact the customer directly to discuss their requirements and provide quotations.

Upgraded Leads Management for Removal Companies

An important part of the website upgrade is SAFRA’s enhanced furniture removals leads management system.

The platform uses an automated process to notify removal companies about enquiries from customers seeking moving services in their operating areas. Participating service providers can assess the information received, confirm their availability and contact prospective customers to discuss the move.

The upgraded system is intended to improve how these enquiries are managed, supporting more effective communication between removal companies and potential customers.

For moving businesses, access to relevant enquiries and accurate information can make a significant difference when assessing transport requirements, scheduling and preparing competitive quotations.

Online Inventories Support More Accurate Quotations

Alongside the website improvements, SAFRA has introduced a free Furniture Volume Calculator that allows customers to prepare detailed moving inventories online.

Users can select furniture, appliances, boxes and other belongings, with the calculator estimating the total volume in cubic metres and cubic feet. Once completed, customers receive an emailed PDF inventory and a link to their calculation, which they can share with removal companies.

Explaining the improvements, Andre, speaking on behalf of SAFRA, says:

“We’ve upgraded the SAFRA website with a modern design, easier navigation and an improved lead management system for our service providers. Customers can now complete their inventories online and estimate their moving volume, giving removal companies better information to work with when preparing quotes.”

Together, the website improvements and inventory tool aim to make moving preparations more convenient while providing service providers with clearer information.

Building on 15 Years of Moving Industry Connections

SAFRA has operated in South Africa’s furniture removals sector since 2011.

According to figures published on its website, the platform has recorded more than 136,000 customer quote requests and over 479,000 quotations submitted by moving companies.

Its service provider network covers household and office relocations, local and long-distance moves, shared loads and related moving services. The latest website improvements build on this experience, combining established quotation services with more accessible online planning tools.

Consumers can find more information about how SAFRA’s moving quote service works before submitting an enquiry.

Reforming the Rockefellers: Speaking of Ivy Lee, in 1914 he achieved another PR milestone when the wealthy Rockefeller family hired him to reform their image. A deadly coal strike had put the family under intense public scrutiny, and Lee organized an in-depth campaign to secure positive goodwill. His tactics include government relations, media relations and even public appearances that sent John D. Rockefeller to meet with the miners personally. The campaign pushed PR onto a much larger platform than ever before and helped define the industry’s relationship with corporations. (Source: Journal of Public Relations Research)
