SANDF’s “Journey to Greatness”, or road to nowhere? – defenceWeb | SA News

Touted by the Department of Defence (DoD) as a turning point for South Africa’s defence force, the “Journey to Greatness” strategy has been accused by political parties of being a hollow and unaccountable policy shell.

In a rare show of cross-party convergence, both the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) slammed the plan this week during a tense sitting of Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans (PCDMV), calling it unserious, unapproved, and unsupported by either Treasury or Cabinet.
