SA’s “new apartheid”

9 June 2023 by Guest

Dear Editor

After 29 years in power, the ANC has not only succeeded in destroying the country’s economy, but has also established a new form of apartheid.

This ANC-apartheid is also based on race. It is implemented by means of racially motivated policy, like Affirmative Action (AA) and Black Economic Empowerment (BEE).

Against this backdrop of decline, the FF Plus formulated an economic recovery plan for South Africa in cooperation with leading experts, like Prof. Jannie Rossouw and Mr Mike Holland, which highlights, among other things, the destructive impact of AA and BEE.

The plan makes it abundantly clear that these destructive policies must be abolished. They must be replaced by a free-market system and principles based on skills transference. The report refers to this concept as BEST, or Black Economic Skills Transfer.

(Dr Pieter Groenewald submitted a copy of this plan to President Cyril Ramaphosa along with a request for serious consideration.)

In addition to various pressing issues, like crime, it is also important to note that in the past 31 May was known as Republic Day, marking the day on which the yoke of English oppression and colonialism was finally cast off.

South Africa’s Constitution clearly stipulates that everyone who helped to build up the country must be honoured for it. This is a shining example thereof.

As regards crime, the police’s latest crime statistics for the last quarter of 2022/23 show that violent crime has risen sharply.

Murder and contact crimes, in particular, are getting out of hand with 76 murders being committed in the country every day. Femicide has increased with more than 20%.

It is interesting to note that 2 324 of the murders committed during this first quarter relate to vigilantism and bundu court justice. Nothing else better illustrates that society has lost all its faith the in the police force.

Add to that the fact that the National Police Commissioner, Gen. Fannie Masemola, has still not been granted his top-secret security clearance after more than a year.

It means that he would be violating the law if he were to inspect secret documents. The situation is unhealthy and must be rectified.

The water issue is equally serious. People can still survive without power, but not without water. Government must not allow the water crisis to escalate as the power crisis did.

Overall, South Africa has deteriorated at an alarming pace under President Ramaphosa. The rand weakened by 40%. Unemployment is up by 7%, and the country was put on the international grey list.

The biggest accusation, however, is that children aged ten are unable to read with comprehension. That is the bleak prospect of South Africa’s future.

Regards

Dr. Pieter Groenewald
FF Plus leader
