Shortages hit South African IT industry hard | SA News


The shortage and associated price surge impacting DDR RAM and enterprise solid-state drives (SSDs) is causing a significant headache for hosting providers in South Africa.

Absolute Hosting managing director Jade Benson told MyBroadband that the market has already seen enterprise SSD prices surge by 50% to 100%.

“The shortage and price increases affecting DDR RAM and enterprise SSDs have already started to affect the majority of hosting providers in South Africa,” he said.
