Snowfall Not Good for Rugby

10 July 2023 by Alan

The adverse weather conditions in Johannesburg have forced a change to the fixtures for the U16 Girls Week, which was due to start at Jeppe High School for Boys on Monday morning.

Following consultation between SA Rugby and the Local Organising Committee, the decision was taken to postpone the U16 fixtures scheduled for Monday, to Wednesday. The decision was made to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of the participating players following snowfall in the area.

The weather conditions were closely monitored and unfortunately, the severity of the weather, including snow and high wind, posed a significant risk to the players and their ability to perform at their best.

The U18 Girls Week fixtures for Tuesday and Thursday are unchanged at this stage.
