Solar rip-off in South Africa | SA News

South African solar panel company ARTsolar claims that 18 foreign firms awarded solar power construction contracts are non-compliant with local content stipulations.

The Durban-based company has filed a court application, alleging extensive non-compliance with the requirements across billions of rands worth of Independent Power Producer Programme contracts.

The Sunday Times reports that the 18 companies were set to produce 1,200MW of energy through three separate tenders issued in 2021 and 2022.
