Boardwalk Hotel and Casino proudly presents The Voice of Courage Fashion Show, taking place on 14 August 2026 at 18h00, an inspiring evening where fashion, elegance, and social impact come together in support of meaningful community change.

The event will be hosted at the iconic Boardwalk ICC, bringing together designers, performers, media partners, and community leaders for a runway experience that goes beyond style to celebrate resilience, empowerment, and hope.

Co-hosted by Camelot Spa, the evening will feature striking runway collections, live entertainment, and powerful storytelling that highlights the strength of individuals and communities overcoming adversity.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Yokhuselo Haven, a sanctuary providing safety, care, and support services to women and children affected by domestic abuse, as well as Community Chest, which funds sustainable community development initiatives across Nelson Mandela Bay.

The runway will come alive with live performances by award-winning artist Robin Pieters, while the evening will be guided by esteemed Master of Ceremonies Lucia Mtshake-Ntshona.

Media partners include PE Express and Kingfisher FM, helping to amplify the message of courage, creativity, and community impact.

Myth: It’s all about being social. Fact: There’s A LOT more to it1 To an outsider, the ‘relationship-building’ that’s always referenced as the key to PR can be envisioned as a typical movie montage of professional life: fancy client dinners and drinks, followed by golfing or boating. While good social skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain clients’ and journalists’ trust do remain at the forefront of PR, many people don’t understand the work – from coordination and written communication to research and measurement – required to establish and maintain productive relationships. Clients won’t put their trust in you just because they like you – you need credibility and concrete results to back you up.

“If a young man tells his date how handsome, smart and successful he is – that’s advertising. If the young man tells his date she’s intelligent, looks lovely, and is a great conversationalist, he’s saying the right things to the right person and that’s marketing. If someone else tells the young woman how handsome, smart and successful her date is – that’s PR.” – S. H. Simmons
