Dear Editor
DA governments across our country continue to demonstrate unwavering commitment to residents, and independent ratings and reports confirm this.
This week, Ratings Afrika has recognised the DA-governed Swartland and Saldanha Bay in the DA-run Western Cape by awarding them joint first place as the best governed municipalities in the country, followed by DA-governed Swellendam in second place.
In Gauteng, DA-run Midvaal has been recognised as the best run municipality in the province, which is a testament to almost 25 years of awards for outstanding clean, and progressive DA governance. In the Eastern Cape DA-governed Kouga has been awarded the best-run municipality in the Eastern Cape category. Last week, DA-run uMngeni in KZN was placed first in the province for household access to basic services.
Across South Africa DA local governments win these independent awards, because they are well run, financially well managed and service delivery focussed.
This week voters in Mamelodi in Gauteng and eMalahleni in Mpumalanga, added to this momentum, coming out to endorse the DA at unprecedented levels. In eMalahleni, voters chose to flip the Ward from the ANC to the DA, because they are tired of failing service delivery.
We are humbled by this endorsement that where the DA governs, life is better. The Auditor General and Ratings Afrika continue to confirm that – and even the President agrees.
