This report examines the state of the aquaculture industry in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), with a focus on South Africa and Namibia (coastal and inland aquaculture) and Zambia (landlocked). These countries have unique geographic characteristics and offer a lens for examining the diverse trajectories of aquaculture development in the region. The report explores the upstream and downstream, identifying key strengths, key constraints, and emerging opportunities. It further identifies potential areas for collaboration to support the subsector’s growth.
