VW SA’s future hangs in the balance | SA News

JOHANNESBURG – The future of Volkswagen operations in South Africa hangs in the balance.

The Volkswagen Group South Africa says 2026 will be a “make or break” year for its local business.

Its German parent is yet to commit to a key new investment here.

The company warns that it faces stiff global competition for investment decisions, and unless conditions improve, SA could lose out to other markets.
