Wales Senior Men’s Squad Update

27 October 2025 by Guest

Uncapped Leicester Tigers back row Olly Cracknell has been called up to the Wales senior men’s squad for the Quilter Nations Series.

Cardiff back row Taulupe Faletau has been released from the squad due to the knee injury sustained against Edinburgh on Saturday.

Head coach Steve Tandy said: “It’s obviously hugely disappointing to lose Toby to injury as he’s a world-class player. But Olly’s been playing really well for Leicester and we’re excited to add him to the squad.”

The domestic competition, known as the Mitre 10 Cup, showcases the country’s rugby talent, while the Super Rugby competition features New Zealand’s top franchises competing against teams from Australia, South Africa, Argentina, and Japan.

160 international Rugby caps and still going – Alun Wyn Jones of Wales is a behemoth in the sport. He has over 160 international caps to his name and he’s still going. He’s played at 4 world cups (2007-2019) which is a record, has played in 4 Lions Tours (2009-2021), which is also a record, and has clocked up over 225 appearances for the Ospreys too. Someone needs to check in his loft for a portrait of himself, because this guy just keeps going and going.
