Warning for people who need a smart ID card or new passport in South Africa | SA News

The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has warned of scammers charging South Africans to secure bookings at its offices for smart ID and passport applications.

An advert for the booking service says it offers smart ID and passport application booking assistance, as well as collections from Home Affairs branches.

“Take note of scammers trying to get your money. Home Affairs bookings are free, don’t fall for these scams!” the department said in a post with an image showing what the fake advert looks…
