Johannesburg, October 2025 – This spring, WhiskyBrother will host The Only Spirits Show, a new tasting event for spirits enthusiasts and curious explorers, at Hyde Park Corner on Friday, 24 October 2025.

Taking place from 6pm to 10pm, this event expands beyond whisky to celebrate the broader world of distilled spirits. Guests can expect to sample over 50 different products, including tequila, mezcal, cognac, brandy, gin, rum and liqueurs, with each exhibitor offering multiple complimentary tastings throughout the evening.

The event offers an intimate setting for those eager to explore new flavours and expand their spirits knowledge. From premium Mexican agave spirits to refined French cognacs and locally crafted gins, the line-up promises variety and discovery.

“We’re delighted that WhiskyBrother has chosen Hyde Park Corner as the venue for their inaugural spirits show,” says Hyde Park Corner’s Marketing spokesperson, Sheree McHaffie. “Events like these add to the dynamic mix of experiences available at the centre, and we’re pleased to see our retailers offering such engaging opportunities for spirits enthusiasts.”

Ticketholders will discover everything from bold Mexican agave spirits (including Kah, Rooster Rojo, Los Danzantes and Cascahuin tequilas plus Alipus mezcal) to refined French expressions from cognac houses Frapin and Tesseron. Lesser-known treasures like Tariquet armagnac and Louis Lauriston calvados share the spotlight with an extensive gin selection featuring Wilderer, Roku, London Dry, Bimber and Hope. Vodka offerings include Vusa and the distinctive bison-grass-infused Zubrowka, and the list keeps growing.

Tastings are complimentary, allowing guests to savour their favourites at leisure.

Tickets are priced at R200 per person and can be purchased online at https://www.whiskybrother.com/products/24-oct-the-only-spirits-show.

WhiskyBrother hopes this inaugural event will become an annual celebration at Hyde Park Corner, bringing together quality producers and discerning drinkers at one of Johannesburg’s premier lifestyle destinations.

But the thought leaders on talk radio and Fox do more than shape opinion. Backed by their own wing of the book-publishing industry and supported by think tanks that increasingly function as public-relations agencies, conservatives have built a whole alternative knowledge system, with its own facts, its own history, its own laws of economics. – David Frum

As a Public Relations professional, staying updated on top trends is essential for success. It’s also important to gauge the industry and understand how your approach to crafting strategies, managing brand reputation and interacting with audiences will shift.

Edward Bernays believes in the mutual understanding of the professional and the profession to foster better terms of performance and success and thus quotes, “The counsel on Public Relations is not an advertising man but he advocates for advertising where that is indicated. Very often he is called in by an advertising agency to supplement its work on behalf of a client. His work and that of the advertising agency do not conflict with or duplicate each other.”
