WSO Bestows Diamond Status on Lenmed Hospital

27 March 2024 by Guest

Lenmed Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre is proud to announce that it has once again received the prestigious Diamond Status award from the World Stroke Organisation (WSO).

The Diamond Status is the highest accolade in the tiers that recognise hospitals that consistently meet and exceed the WSO’sstringent criteria for stroke treatment and patient care. For hospitals to qualify for the WSO Angels Awards programme, awards are calculated quarterly and the level achieved depends on the data captured in the last three months. So far, Lenmed Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre received awards for the last three consecutive quarters in 2023 and now for the first quarter in 2024. These awards acknowledge the hospital’s dedication to delivering world-class stroke care services and having established cultures and systems to support continuous improvement.

This recent accolade brings the number of awards received by the health facility since 2022 to six.

Lenmed Group Chief Executive Officer, Amil Devchand, stated that “As CEO, I am deeply honoured and immensely proud of this prestigious award, this recognition not only underscores our commitment to excellence in stroke care but also reflects the dedication and expertise of our entire healthcare team.”

Acknowledging the efforts of the healthcare professionals and support staff for the recent success, Hospital CEO, Niresh Bechan shares; “Together, we stand as a beacon of hope and healing for our community, striving each day to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by stroke. This award serves as a testament to our unwavering pursuit of exceptional patient outcomes and reinforces our mission to provide compassionate, high-quality care to all who walk through our doors.”
