Cape Town, South Africa – August 26, 2024 – The penultimate round of the highly anticipated HYPROP MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience 2024 came to an exhilarating close at CapeGate Shopping Centre over the weekend, marking yet another milestone in what has become one of South Africa’s most thrilling esports tournaments. Held from 23 to 25 August, the event attracted hundreds of gaming enthusiasts and spectators, all eager to witness the region’s top players battle it out for a coveted spot in the grand final taking place in September.

Victory at CapeGate: Meet the Newest Esports Champions

The CapeGate round was packed with high-octane action as digital athletes showcased their skills in a variety of popular esports titles. After two days of intense competition, the winners emerged, securing their places in the national final:

1st Place: Aasim Lamara
2nd Place: Zaheer Hoosain
3rd Place: Zoltan Werth

Aasim Lamara will now advance to the ultimate showdown at Canal Walk Shopping Centre from September 11 to 15, where he will compete for a share of the incredible R50,000 prize pool, with the top prize set at R25,000.
