Female Suspect Turns State Witness

1 October 2024 by Guest

POLOKWANE – Following positive information by a certain private tracking company about a hijacked motor vehicle, members of Mopani Tracking Team and Bolobedu Vispol, arrested two suspects aged 24 and 40, on Sunday, 29 September 2024 at a gravel road between Bellview and Mamokgadi villages in Bolobedu policing area.

The team spotted the vehicle, and they tactically approached it. It was occupied by two males and one female. Upon searching them, the two males were found in possession of the victim’s cellphone and cash money. Two males were arrested, and the female turned into a state witness.

Preliminary investigations established that the vehicle was hijacked on Saturday, 28 September 2024, at Mokwakwaila policing area.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Samuel Manala, has hailed the impact of partnership policing that resulted in the recovery of the hijacked motor vehicle. “I commend the members, including vehicle tracking company, for the job well done. The fight against crime is a collective responsibility,” said Major General Manala.

The suspects will appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon.

The police investigations are continuing.
