First batch of Changan vehicles arrive in SA | SA News

The first shipment of Changan vehicles has arrived at the Port of Durban, marking the Chinese carmaker’s entry into the South African market.

Founded in 1862, Changan is one of China’s oldest vehicle manufacturers and operates 34 factories worldwide, with a presence in more than 75 markets and a reported customer base of more than 21-million drivers.

The consignment, which docked on October 6, included the Alsvin sedan, CS75 Pro SUV and Deepal S07 EV.

The brand’s local distributor, Jameel Motors South Africa, said this delivery signals the start of a national rollout scheduled to begin later this month. Additional models are expected to join the line-up in 2026.
