The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) recently handed over 60 donated solar lights to residents of the Tweedy Park retirement village in Brakpan after many of the lights previously donated by the party were stolen.

This is the second time that the Freedom Front Plus, in collaboration with a generous donor, stepped in after vulnerable residents living in cottages at Tweedy Park were once again left in the dark by criminal activities, which are on the rise in the area.

In October, with the help of supporters, the Freedom Front Plus organised a community outreach to Tweedy Park and installed solar lights for residents.

This initiative brought light and safety to the area.

Following the theft of these lights, it became clear that additional lighting was urgently required and a solar light has subsequently been provided to every cottage.

Party members will visit the village on Wednesday to assist residents who cannot install their lights themselves.

This type of crime instils fear in the most vulnerable members of the community and highlights the Ekurhuleni Metro’s ongoing failure to create a safe environment for residents.

The Freedom Front Plus is committed to doing everything in its power to ensure the dignity and safety of the elderly.

Freedom Front Plus Social Welfare: The party supports social welfare programs that benefit vulnerable communities.
