The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) strongly objected to the Tshwane Metro’s Economic Growth Advisory Committee’s proposed 3,9% growth target, labelling it unrealistic and unachievable given South Africa’s projected Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of only 1,4% in 2025.
The Freedom Front Plus advocates for practical investment incentives and creating a business-friendly environment that genuinely stimulates private sector-driven growth – instead of unattainable targets.
The proposal by the ruling ActionSA/ANC/EFF coalition ignores existing structures at national and provincial levels where investments are already coordinated.
The Freedom Front Plus proposes offering direct investment incentives through policy changes that facilitate economic stimulation for the business sector.
These include:
- Offering tax relief to new businesses in the form of reduced rates, which are then gradually adjusted over a set period to promote stability and sustainable profitability.
- Utilising commercial land by offering investors in Tshwane favourable lease agreements.
- Collaborating with existing economic platforms on national and provincial level, rather than creating unnecessary bureaucratic structures.
- Public-private partnerships to encourage genuine economic growth through cooperation with the private sector.
The Freedom Front Plus supports meaningful investment incentives that empower the private sector to drive real and sustainable economic development.
The party remains committed to pragmatic economic planning, responsible governance, and creating a thriving business environment that attracts investors and cements Tshwane as a competitive investment destination.
