Harare Drug Dealer to Appear in the Khayelitsha Court

WESTERN CAPE – A suspected drug dealer of Harare is expected to make a court appearance in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court on charges related to dealing in drugs after information received from the community led to the confiscation of a substantial amount of drugs.

On Saturday, 19 October 2024 at about 20:00, members of Harare SAPS Crime Prevention Unit received information from a member of the public of an unknown male who is selling in drugs from a residence in Harare. The information led the members to the suspected drug house where the members searched the house. During the search they discovered six plastic bags which contained 1083 mandrax tablets inside the bedroom, on the bed. The mandrax tablets are estimated at a value of about R60 000-00.

An adult suspect was subsequently arrested and detained on a charge of dealing in drugs. He is scheduled to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 21 October 2024.
