Joburg’s dirtiest river may lose its only champion

Environmental organisation KlipSA faces closure

KlipSA, an NPO devoted to cleaner rivers and a healthier urban environment, has warned that it may close after 17 years.
KlipSA says Johannesburg’s failing water and wastewater infrastructure is driving further deterioration of the heavily polluted Klip River.
The organisation’s closure could halt projects including a planned wetland on the Robinson Canal and water-stewardship projects for schoolchildren.
