Lamelle Research Laboratories has once again been recognised by Luxury Lifestyle Awards as the Best Luxury Beauty Brand in South Africa for 2026, marking the second consecutive year in the South African skincare brand has received this prestigious accolade.

For more than 20 years, Lamelle Research Laboratories has been redefining what professional skincare can achieve by bringing together biotechnology, scientific research, and confident innovation to develop advanced solutions that go beyond the surface. Founded in 2005, Lamelle is a proudly South African biotechnology company specialising in professional aesthetic skincare. Over two decades, the company has built its reputation on developing targeted, evidence-based formulations designed to address complex skin concerns including acne, pigmentation, ageing and sensitivity.

At the heart of Lamelle’s philosophy is a belief that true skincare innovation goes deeper than what is immediately visible. Its approach combines scientifically researched actives, proprietary and patented ingredient technologies and internationally sourced innovations to create formulations designed to support measurable skin outcomes. Confident innovation. Beyond the surface. is more than a tagline for Lamelle; it reflects the philosophy that has guided the company throughout its 20-year journey. From understanding the biology behind skin concerns to developing sophisticated formulations that work with the skin’s natural processes, Lamelle continues to challenge conventional approaches to professional skincare.

The brand’s commitment to innovation extends beyond its formulations. Lamelle works closely with trained skincare professionals and healthcare practitioners, supported by an ongoing education programme designed to ensure that advanced skincare is accompanied by informed consultation and professional expertise. This combination of science, education and personalised care remains central to the Lamelle experience.
Today, Lamelle operates from South Africa with an expanding international footprint, partnering with distributors and healthcare professionals across Africa and growing its presence in key international markets, including the United Arab Emirates and Australia. This latest Luxury Lifestyle Awards recognition follows the brand’s 2025 win in the same category, reinforcing Lamelle’s position within the luxury professional skincare sector and recognising its continued commitment to innovation, scientific integrity and excellence.

Tony de Barros, Founder and Sales and Marketing Director of Lamelle Research Laboratories, commented: “To receive the Best Luxury Beauty Brand in South Africa award for the second consecutive year is an incredible achievement for our entire team, particularly as we celebrate more than 20 years of Lamelle. Our journey has always been about pushing the boundaries of professional skincare through confident innovation and looking beyond the surface to understand what skin truly needs. This recognition reinforces our commitment to science, education and developing solutions that deliver meaningful results for both skincare professionals and their clients.”

Alexander Chetchikov, CEO of Luxury Lifestyle Awards and President of the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce, said: “We congratulate Lamelle Research Laboratories on being recognised as the Best Luxury Beauty Brand in South Africa for 2026. The company’s continued focus on scientific research, professional education and innovative product development reflects the qualities that define excellence within the luxury beauty industry. Receiving this recognition for the second consecutive year demonstrates the consistency and strength of Lamelle’s contribution to professional skincare.”

As Lamelle enters its third decade, its focus remains firmly on the future: continuing to question, innovate and develop skincare that goes beyond simply treating what we see. Because confident innovation doesn’t stop at the surface.

“Consumers have identified competency as the element that plays the biggest role in a good customer experience. To be competent, a customer support professional must have a strong knowledge of the company and its products, as well as the power to fix the customer’s problems. The more knowledge they have, the more competent they become.” ~ Oscar Auliq-Ice, Happy Customers

Since social media drives the news cycle and influences brand perception, it’s no surprise that it maintains a significant (and growing) role in the PR industry.
