The event showcased some of the most influential women across various industries, including renowned personalities such as Bonang Matheba, Jessica Nkosi, and Miss South Africa 2023, Natasha Joubert, among others.

The Walk Your Worth fashion show was a momentous occasion, coinciding with the recent launch of Talk Your Worth, the locally produced L’Oréal Paris podcast dedicated to fostering meaningful discussions on self-worth, self-empowerment, and self-acceptance. Furthermore, the announcement of acclaimed actress Thuso Mbedu as the first L’Oréal Paris spokesperson for sub-Saharan Africa added to the excitement surrounding the event.

Inspired by the L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé runway show held during Paris Fashion Week, the Walk Your Worth show in South Africa aimed to celebrate women’s empowerment and resilience on a global scale. The collaboration with Biji La Maison de Couture brought forth unique and captivating designs, reflecting the essence of each individual model as they walked the runway with confidence and grace.

Biji Gibbs, founder of Biji La Maison de Couture, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “I am honored to collaborate with L’Oréal Paris and SA Fashion Week to bring Walk Your Worth to life. Each garment is a testament to the beauty and strength of every woman, and I am proud to have witnessed our models embody their worth on the runway.”

Ayanda Mackay, Marketing Manager for L’Oréal Paris, reiterated the brand’s commitment to women’s empowerment and inclusivity, emphasizing the importance of showcasing women of diverse backgrounds and talents on the runway. The partnership between L’Oréal Paris and SA Fashion Week reflects a shared vision of promoting diversity and celebrating individuality within the fashion industry.

Lucilla Booyzen, Director of SA Fashion Week, praised the collaboration with L’Oréal Paris, emphasizing its alignment with the event’s values of diversity and inclusivity. Booyzen highlighted the significance of celebrating women’s strength and beauty in all its forms, further reinforcing the impact of the Walk Your Worth show on the local fashion landscape.

The Walk Your Worth show captivated audiences and left a lasting impression on the fashion industry, amplifying the message of women’s empowerment and celebrating beauty in its diverse manifestations.
