October 2025 |Johannesburg, South Africa – At Math Restaurant, dining has always been about more than food, it is a celebration of South African creativity, community, and connection. The newly launched MATH Wine Club continues that ethos, curating intimate monthly experiences where wine lovers, winemakers, and culinary creatives gather under one roof in Waterfall, Johannesburg.

The next Wine Club evening will be held on Thursday, 23 October at Waterfall Corner, with guests welcomed from 18:00 for an 18:30 start. This edition will highlight the elegance and heritage of Taaibosch Wines and Le Chant Wines, paired with an exclusive four-course menu curated by Chef Ean. Presented in partnership with LAB Wines & Spirits and hosted by esteemed wine specialist Amos Sobashe, a semi-finalist for Best Sommelier of South Africa, the evening invites guests on a journey through terroir, craftsmanship, and culture — with each pour revealing its own unique story.

Designed to make wine culture both refined and welcoming, the MATH Wine Club focuses on discovery through storytelling, where tasting becomes a shared experience and wine appreciation becomes communal rather than exclusive.

“Wine has always been about people , about conversation, warmth, and connection. And that’s what we do at Math,” says Puleng Mathabathe, Founder of MATH. “Through the Wine Club, we wanted to make wine culture less intimidating and more communal , where exploration feels like an extension of our motto: When We Gather.”

Previous evenings have featured exceptional houses such as Morgenster Estate Wines and Foundry Wines, with each edition selling out due to its unmatched pairing of hospitality, insight, and culinary innovation.

First PR Agency: Modern PR dates to 1900, when the first Public Relations agency, “The Publicity Bureau,” was founded by former Boston journalists. The agency operated for “some 12 years before it disappeared into the sands of oblivion.” However, PR continued to grow throughout the early 1900s thanks to popular pioneers such as Ivy Lee and Edward Bernays (we’ll get back to them later).
