Motshekga claims SANDF can protect South Africa – experts disagree – defenceWeb | SA News

Defence and Military Veterans Minister Angie Mothsekga has told Parliament that the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), although facing challenges, is able to protect South Africa’s territorial integrity and deploy on external peace missions – something experts do not entirely agree with.

Answering questions in Parliament’s National Council of Provinces on 24 June, Motshekga said, “I can assure the public with a clear heart that in terms of our internal needs we are very confident as a defence force that we will be able to protect our territorial integrity.” She admitted that because of defunding “we…
