November Grants Pay Early – No Need to Queue at Dawn

I run SAGrant (sagrant.co.za), a free resource helping South Africans navigate SASSA grants.

November grants pay earlier than usual. Older Persons grants are paid on Friday 30 October, Disability grants on 2 November, and Child Support and other grants on 3 November. Grants still under review are paid on 5 November.

The money stays in a beneficiary’s account until it is needed. There is no need to queue at dawn on payment day, and a SASSA card works at tills and ATMs like any bank card. A grant does not expire on payment day.

One practical tip: never hand a SASSA card or PIN to anyone offering to help collect a grant, and never pay a fee for a status check. Free status checks are available at srd.sassa.gov.za, and SASSA’s helpline is 0800 60 10 11.
