Dear Editor,
Older Persons grants are paid today, 30 October, under SASSA’s revised November payment schedule — with disability grants on Monday 2 November, children’s grants on Tuesday 3 November, and grants under review on Thursday 5 November.
Two things every beneficiary should know. First, grant money does not expire on payment day. It stays in your account until you use it, and you can draw it at any till or ATM — there is no need to queue at dawn outside a pay point on the first morning. Second, SASSA will never ask for your PIN, send you a payment link by SMS, or charge a fee to “help” you with your grant. Anyone who does is running a scam; report them on SASSA’s toll-free line 0800 60 10 11.
If you received a grant review notice, respond with the documents SASSA asks for — a review is not a cancellation, but ignoring it can see your grant suspended. Free, plain-language guides to every grant are available at sagrant.co.za.
Regards,
SAGrant team
