Ramaphosa Makes a Concerning Revelation About Ekurhuleni’s Water Crisis

26 October 2026 by Guest

Statement by Khathutshelo Rasilingwane MPL – DA Ekurhuleni Mayoral Candidate:

President Ramaphosa’s admission during a campaign stop in Daveyton that the national government has had to intervene to rescue Ekurhuleni’s failing ANC-led coalition from its inability to deliver water is a damning indictment of the ANC’s failures.

Residents have every reason to punish the ANC for denying them their basic human right to water, neglecting aging infrastructure, and failing to deliver the services they deserve.

In Primrose, some residents have endured up to 22 days of unreliable water supply. In Tembisa, communities remain uncleaned, while electricity outages in many parts of the city are normal, and broken streetlights leave residents fearing for their safety when travelling home after dark.

I have made five clear pledges: grow the local economy and create jobs, stabilise municipal finances, root out corruption and enforce accountability, build safer communities and restore reliable basic service delivery.

Unlike the ANC and its chaotic coalition, a DA-led Ekurhuleni will prioritise essential services, maintain infrastructure, direct resources where they are needed most and hold officials accountable for results. Residents deserve a municipality that works for all, not one that leaves them waiting for solutions.

On Wednesday, 4 November, residents have the power to STOP THE CHAOS and START SERVICE DELIVERY by voting for the DA and rejecting the ANC and its proxy parties.

  • Publish the Call, Then Publish the Grade

    \”Reeeelly??\” says Van.

\”Ja\”, says the larnie. \”Check, there\’s someone up front now, I\’ll show you!\”

He starts steering towards the pedestrian, grinning from ear-to-ear, then at the last second he swerves back onto the road. But he hears a terrific \’thud\’, and he glances left to see Van closing the door.

\”What the hell, man!\’ he shouts.

\”Jirrah\” says Van, \”You need to get those sights adjusted, china, If I hadn\’t opened the door, you would have missed him completely!\”
