Recall for Audi Q3, Hyundai Santa Fe MX5 Hev and Toyota Hino 700 Trucks

9 October 2026 by Guest

The National Consumer Commission (NCC) notifies consumers of three (3) vehicle recalls involving the Audi Q3, Hyundai Santa Fe MX5 HEV and Toyota Hino 700 trucks, as notified by the respective suppliers.

Audi Q3: 235 vehicles

Audi South Africa, a division of Volkswagen Group Africa (Pty) Ltd, has informed the NCC about a recall affecting two hundred and thirty-five (235) Audi Q3 vehicles. The affected vehicles were sold nationally through Audi SA-approved dealers from 16 April 2026 onwards.

Audi SA is recalling these vehicles after identifying a defect with the front seat belts. According to Audi SA, the belt webbing may not have been guided through the metal eyelet on the lap belt tensioner. This means that the seat belt may not be connected to the vehicle’s load-bearing structure. In the event of a fault, the affected seat belt may not restrain the occupant properly.

Hyundai Santa Fe MX5 HEV: 162 vehicles

Hyundai Automotive South Africa has informed the NCC of a recall affecting certain Hyundai Santa Fe MX5 HEV vehicles sold nationally through Hyundai dealerships in 2025. The recall affects one hundred and sixty-two (162) vehicles. The defect concerns the front seat belts, with some vehicles potentially experiencing a misalignment of the front seat belt’s snap-on anchor. This could affect the proper positioning of the front seat belt and may pose a safety risk.

Hino 700 truck tractor series: 482 trucks

Toyota South Africa Motors (Pty) Ltd is recalling Hino 700 trucks sold nationally through the Toyota South Africa dealer network. The recall affects four hundred and eighty-two (482) trucks made available between 17 April 2023 and 17 January 2025.

According to the supplier, the defect is due to a bolt fracture during the assembly process on the production line. As a result, the fifth-wheel coupler securing bolts and mounting plate securing bolts may be fractured. This condition may affect the secure mounting of these components and presents a safety concern.

Consumers who own any of the affected vehicles and trucks are advised to present their vehicles to any dealership for inspection and, where necessary, replacement of the affected component/s. The corrective work will be carried out at no cost to the consumer.

This is probably off-topic, BUT here goes: I see that MyZA operates a number of \’sections\’ dealing with News, Directory, Events and a Marketplace and I was wondering just how https://MyZA.co.za manages to keep the content fresh and growing? Do you have an army of employees?
