25 June 2025 – The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced that the 2024/2025 ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs have been moved to Pretoria.

The event was scheduled to be played in Ekurhuleni at the Tsakane Stadium from Tuesday, 1 July to Sunday, 6 July 2025 and has now been moved to the nation’s capital. It will still be played on the same dates, but Soshanguve’s Giant Stadium will now host the group matches, while Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville will host the semi-finals and the final.

SAFA and the Motsepe Foundation requested the Ekurhuleni municipality to keep Tsakane in a good condition during the initial inspections but after visiting the venue this week, a decision was taken to move the Playoffs to another facility. The two parties say that there is still no improvement at the facility since the last inspection and a decision had to be made.

The draw for the National Playoffs was conducted at the SAFA headquarters in Johannesburg on Tuesday. As of Wednesday evening, six teams had confirmed their participation in the National Playoffs.

Limpopo is playing today to decide the provincial winners. The North West arbitration award verdict is expected on Friday while Western Cape is yet to be decided. The teams were divided into three groups and the matches will be played in a round-robin format.

South African Football: Matches between SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits have historically been competitive.
