16 May 2026 – The South African Football Association (SAFA) is providing an update on the four (4) members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) that were suspended on 28 March 2026.

The NEC members were suspended following a resolution taken by the Emergency Committee on 13 March 2026 and the decision was with immediate effect.

The four (4) members approached the Mafikeng High Court to challenge and reverse those suspensions. SAFA stands firm on the suspensions. Emma Hendricks, Gladwyn White, Orapeleng Setlhare and Monde Montshiwa have been suspended and remain suspended pending imminent SAFA disciplinary processes.

Acting Judge Matlhape lambasted the applicants and struck the application from the roll for a lack of urgency. This is a lesson to all the people wasting the Court’s time and precious resources.

SAFA remains committed to transparency and accountability in all financial matters and will continue to provide clarity where necessary regarding the administration of its programmes. We are now focussed on Banyana Banyana, Bafana Bafana and our junior national teams participating on the globe.

South African Football: Orlando Pirates won the CAF Champions League in 1995 , becoming the first South African team to do so.
