South Africa ends 15-year wait with stunning 30-run win over India | SA News

Simon Harmer bowled South Africa to a memorable 30-run victory over India in Kolkata. The Proteas secured their first Test win in India for 15 years.

India captain Shubman Gill was hospitalised with neck spasms and could not bat. The hosts collapsed to 93 all out while chasing a modest target of 124.

Harmer followed his first-innings figures of 4-30 with a devastating 4-21 in India’s second innings. The off-spinner dismantled India’s batting order on a turning Eden Gardens pitch.

South Africa had struggled early in their second innings, slumping to 91-7 before recovering. Captain Temba Bavuma remained unbeaten on 55, the match’s only half-century by either side.
