The first warning sign came with a phone call. A frustrated customer rang Malawi Cane Interiors (Original Malawi Cane (PTY) Ltd.) at their Diep River shop to complain about a chair crawling with borer beetles. But there was a problem – Original Malawi Cane had never sold that customer anything.
That call was just the beginning.
From a small start in 2012, Original Malawi Cane grew into a trusted supplier of authentic Malawian cane furniture – intricate chairs, loungers, and tables that came to define a certain South African aesthetic.
It wasn’t just furniture; it was a style, a heritage, a feeling.
