Rising South African Maskandi artist Two Ocean releases his highly anticipated new album, Kuyoba Umlando, today. Translated as “It Will Become History,” Kuyoba Umlando captures Two Ocean’s journey, ambitions, experiences and vision as he continues to establish himself within South Africa’s evolving Maskandi landscape.

Known for combining the traditional spirit of Maskandi with contemporary production, storytelling and modern visual culture, Two Ocean uses Kuyoba Umlando to connect the roots of Zulu music with a younger generation of listeners. The album explores themes of love, relationships, township life, ambition, perseverance, culture and personal experiences. It reflects Two Ocean’s belief that music can preserve moments, tell stories and create a lasting legacy.

The album follows a period of growing momentum for the artist, including the success of his music and visual releases and his continued engagement with audiences through digital platforms, live performances and collaborations. One of the standout moments leading into the album campaign has been “Kuyaqala Kuyahlangana” featuring Shenge, which has generated significant online attention and strengthened Two Ocean’s presence within the Maskandi community.

“Kuyoba Umlando is a reflection of where I come from, where I am now and where I want to go. I want people to hear the stories, feel the music and understand the journey behind every song. This is more than an album for me — it is a chapter that I want people to remember.”

The album demonstrates Two Ocean’s commitment to developing a distinctive identity within Maskandi while embracing the opportunities presented by modern music, digital media and youth culture.
