Vote No For Paul

25 July 2023 by Guest

The FF Plus asked and answered the following question: “Can South Africa afford to have Paul Mashatile as president?” by saying; “The answer is a definite no!”

South Africa still has not recovered from the state capture that occurred under the presidency of Jacob Zuma and cannot afford a second wave of state capture under an already compromised candidate. The media reports on Mashatile raises many questions.

One could still attribute the icy relationship between President Cyril Ramaphosa and his deputy to personality clashes.

But as more and more skeletons come tumbling out of Mashatile’s luxury closet, like his friendships with controversial businessmen, like Edwin Sodi and Ndavhe Mareda, and his alleged ties to the so-called Alex Mafia, it is becoming abundantly clear that South Africa cannot afford to have him as president.

Sodi is currently facing criminal charges along with Ace Magashule, former Free State Premier and suspended General Secretary of the ANC, for corruption related to the asbestos roof saga.

And Mareda, on the other hand, has contracts with the embattled Eskom.

Mashatile currently does not live in any of the presidential homes to which he is entitled as Deputy President, but prefers to live in a luxury house worth R37 million in Waterfall, Midrand.

The house belongs to his son, Thabisa, and his son-in-law, Nceba Nonkwela.

Nonkwela is the owner of Nonkwela Investments, which allegedly received at least four loans from the Gauteng Partnership Fund amounting to a total of R30 million between 2013 and 2017.

This coincidentally overlapped with Mashatile’s second term as Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements.

Nonkwela supposedly received the money to develop certain properties in Highlands, Johannesburg, for student housing. But apart for a few excavations, nothing has been constructed on the relevant sites.

All these matters along with the shocking behaviour demonstrated by Mashatile’s VIP-protection thugs on the N1 must surely send cold chills down the spines of all South Africans.

Is there light at the end of the ANC tunnel for South Africans?

The answer is a definite yes. But then voters will have to cross the proverbial Rubicon to get rid of the ANC.

Dr Corné Mulder, FF Plus MP and Chief Whip, made this very clear during his speech at a business brunch in Sandton.

According to Dr Mulder, South Africa needs a tsunami of ordinary people to overthrow the ANC next year. The success of the effort will depend on civil society, and not only political parties.

If the whole of civil society cannot be persuaded to get actively involved, the ANC will still be holding the reins after 2024. It is every citizen and organisation’s duty to stand up and say, “I will do it; I will get involved.”

Therefore, it is our duty as citizens to vote and to encourage our family and friends to register and cast their votes so that we can get rid of the ANC.

Read an excerpt from Dr Mulder’s speech in the newsletter below or listen to the entire speech on the FF Plus’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CWHctwrQQg&lc=UgyV-f447l-JxDmVuu54AaABAgIt%27s

Let us put our hand to the plough and get involved. Together we can cross the Rubicon to a better South Africa and life for all.

Dust still has not settled regarding South Africa’s ties with Russia

Although President Cyril Ramaphosa probably slept well for the first time in a long time after Vladimir Putin announced that he will not be attending the BRICS summit in South Africa, the dust still has not settled when it comes to the ANC government’s ties with Russia.

The FF Plus demanded through a statement by the party’s leader, Dr Pieter Groenewald, that the independent panel’s report on the controversial freight ship, the Lady R, which docked at the Simon’s Town Naval Base, must be made public.

This report must be submitted to Ramaphosa in two weeks’ time.

It is, furthermore, evident from the reply by the Minister of Defence, Thandi Modise, to a question from Dr Groenewald about the landing of a freight aircraft of a private Russian company, Aviacon Zitotrans, on 24 April this year that the ANC is not playing open cards about the matter.

According to media reports, this company is subject to sanctions by both America and Britain because it transported arms for the Russian army.

According to Modise, the aircraft was delivering diplomatic mail to the Russian Embassy, so, it had permission to land.

Dr Groenewald was not satisfied with the explanation and undertook to determine how it is possible for a private company, which is subject to international sanctions, to be granted diplomatic status in South Africa.

Van der Merwe is approached by SANRAL one day who want to build a new highway through his donkey farm. Van is really concerned with how his donkeys can get from one side of the farm to the other without having to cross the highway and risk being injured or killed. He is promised that they will build bridges the highway so that his donkeys can cross under the highway. Van agrees and gives them the go-ahead.

The highway is built and a year later the same rep goes to the farm to go see how Van and his donkeys are. He eventually finds Van under one of these bridges chipping away at the roof of the tunnel with a hammer and chisel.

\”Mnr Van de Merwe, what are you doing damaging the highway bridge?\”
