When Did Politicians Stop Caring For Our People?

18 July 2023 by Alan

Editor: The day that we put them on the payroll and politics became a JOB and not a CALLING!

The President of the newly formed Alliance of Citizens for Change (A.C.C.) political party and Patron of SamaritansFeetSA, Masizole Mnqasela, will join the Founders of SamaritansFeet International Mr Manny Ohonme and Mrs Tracy Ohonme from the United States of America in giving school shoes, goodies and hope to the kids at Kalkfontein Daycare in Kuilsriver, on Mandela Day, 18 July 2023 at 09:00am.

Masizole said, while politics are about winning votes to govern, one should not want to govern for the sake of governing. Your ultimate aim should always be to become the government of the day to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the ordinary people and should not be about securing positions for yourselves. He contents that this is a current danger in South African politics. Hence we need a social justice movement like the A.C.C.

I am also a firm believer that no political party or politician should wait to get into government to start making a difference in the lives of our people. I have spent 23 years in active community service and 20 years in public service, and I have, throughout this time, also been involved in charitable work as a public representative. My aim has always been to make a difference in the lives of people regardless of the positions I held. As the President of the only viable alternative in South Africa, I will continue the work that I started 23 years ago and show people just how much the members and leaders of the A.C.C. cares for them.

The party is now represented in all nine provinces in the country and I have encouraged our provincial leaders to embark on similar programmes in their respective provinces. I have asked them to ensure that A.C.C. is not only visible on Mandela Day, to show people how much we care for them, but to show compassion every day. Unlike those in government, we must change South Africa into a better place. We must remember, we are the only viable alternative in South Africa and people rely on us to change their lives and to save South Africa.

People often ask me, “when did politicians stop caring for our people”. I am asked, “why must people suffer in this way and why is the current government missing?” The current government have abandoned the vision of Nelson Mandela. When I was approached to lead this movement, I was asked to change this. I was asked to show that we care, and this is exactly what we will do.

I was overwhelmed by the support the party received at the launch on Saturday. People believe in our agenda for social justice in South Africa driven by our incessant appetite for real change in our country. Our national and provincial leaders have also been inundated since, with calls and messages of support and those wanting to join the party. We are humbled and grateful and will sign up as many people as possible, as fast as humanly possible.

This organisation is growing at a rapid pace. I want to ask those members joining to arrange public meetings in every corner of this country and to invite our national and provincial leaders to address people in public meetings to share more information about our promise and what we will do to change their lives when we govern.

We recognise the challenges people face and we understand their struggles experienced like poverty, hunger and disease, inequality, unemployment, service delivery failures, corruption, crime, and the worsening electricity crisis. It is important for us to meet with South Africans to show them that we have a plan to deal with these struggles and also show them that we are committed to implementing these plans once in government. We need real change that put people first and social justice now!
