154 .22 Conversions Kits Confiscated

PRETORIA- 154 Conversion kits were confiscated in a simultaneous Section 109 compliance inspection by the members of the Hawks National Priority Violent Crime Investigation based in Head Office in concert with their counterparts in Western Cape’s Provincial FLASH, Ballistic and Gorensic Science Laboratories yesterday, 26 July 2023 both in Pretoria and Western Cape.

According to the Firearms Control Act explanation these .22 conversion kits are equal to a firearm and therefor require those who sell them to possess a permit to do so or a license to those who will buy them. Designated Firearms officers from five stations conducted the inspections at the six identified firearms dealers resulting in 154 of the adapter or conversion kits being confiscated.
