A New Era of Global Premium Mobility

25 September 2025 by Guest

LEPAS has been making waves this year. After its global debut in April and its first overseas launch in July, the brand continues to gather momentum around the world. With Chery’s 22 years as China’s number one vehicle exporter and the trust of more than 17.44 million drivers, LEPAS is stepping onto the global premium mobility stage with a clear vision to become the preferred brand for an elegant mobility life.

The name LEPAS combines the ideas of “leap” and “passion”. It symbolises agility, vitality and a spirit of bold movement while reflecting a dual pursuit of elegance and passion. At its heart, LEPAS understands the lives of modern urban professionals. These are people who balance career, family and personal ambitions while seeking a lifestyle defined by confidence, aesthetics, safety, value and self-expression. For them, a vehicle is more than transport. It is a statement of success, a companion that reflects personal taste and ambition.

The brand proposition “Drive Your Elegance” speaks directly to that aspiration. It is an invitation to elevate style and confidence through mobility. Choosing LEPAS is not just about owning a car, it is about owning every journey with refinement and empowerment. Drive represents achievement and control over one’s path, while Elegance highlights beauty, taste and assurance. Together they turn everyday roads into journeys of success and self-belief.

This vision comes alive through Leopard Aesthetics, the LEPAS design philosophy. It transforms premium cars from cold machines into essentials of an elegant lifestyle. Inspired by the natural grace of a leopard, the design philosophy blends dynamic lines with flowing proportions. The flagship SUV L8 embodies this idea, with a sleek profile, vertical-pupil headlights and a rounded grille that combine the raw energy of a sprinting leopard with the quiet strength of elegance. The L8 drew major attention when it debuted at the Indonesia International Auto Show.

LEPAS is supported by the scale and strength of Chery Group. Ranked number 233 on the Fortune Global 500 and the fastest-rising automaker on this year’s list, Chery has already exported more than 5 million vehicles, the first Chinese brand to reach that milestone. With eight global R&D centers, rigorous testing across 44 countries and nine regions, and a worldwide sales and service network, LEPAS has the technical and market foundations to compete at the highest level.

On the technology front, Lepas is available in internal combustion engine, plug-in hybrid, and battery hybrid electric variants, offering versatility for every driving style, giving drivers a choice of powertrains to suit their lifestyle.

The product roadmap is equally ambitious. The L8 and L4 will arrive in South Africa later this year, with the L6 to follow. Each model is designed to meet the needs of different drivers while staying true to the brand’s promise of elegance, refinement and confidence on the road.

In October, at the Chery International User Summit, LEPAS will showcase its latest achievements in product, technology, brand and user ecosystem, working with partners around the globe to shape a new chapter in elegant living and mobility.

Nunu Ntshingila had humble beginnings in Soweto, she started out her corporate life with no creative know-how, but determination to learn and grow. After working her way up the corporate ladder, she became Chairman at Ogilvy & Mather South Africa, one of the largest advertising agencies in Africa. She went on to be inducted into the Creative Hall of Fame, and the first woman to be inducted into the Loeries Hall of Fame. This achievement put her in the perfect position to say \”yes\’ when offered to be the head of Facebook for Africa.
