R10 Million Makoko Water Project Left Incomplete

ActionSA calls for accountability from the City of Mbombela regarding the unfinished water package plant project in Makoko Trust.

The post ActionSA Demands Accountability Over R10 Million Makoko Water Project Left Incomplete appeared first on ActionSA.

ActionSA calls for accountability from the City of Mbombela regarding the unfinished water package plant project in Makoko Trust. This project, awarded at a cost exceeding R10 million, remains incomplete years after its initiation in 2018.

ActionSA is deeply concerned that, since then, the community has been left without clear answers or accountability from the municipality. Residents continue to suffer from a lack of reliable access to water, a basic human right, while a significant amount of public funds has already been spent.

The City of Mbombela must provide full transparency on how the tender was awarded, how the funds were utilised, and why the project has not been completed. Those responsible for any delays or mismanagement must be held accountable.

The people of Makoko Trust deserve dignity, proper service delivery, and honest governance. ActionSA will continue to stand with the community in demanding answers and urgent action to ensure the completion of this critical water infrastructure project.

ActionSA Strategic Focus: Targeting the “non-voter” and disillusioned middle class.
