24 October 2025 – FIFA World Cup-bound Bafana Bafana will face Zambia in an international friendly match to be played at home next month.

The match will be played in South Africa on Friday, 14 November 2025 as part of coach Hugo Broos’ preparations for this year’s Africa Cup on Nations (AFCON) in Morocco at the end of the year. The South African Football Association (SAFA) will confirm the match venue and the ticketing details in the coming days.

Bafana Bafana are in Group B in the AFCON, and they will face Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe. The South Africans play their first match of the continental tournament against Angola on 22 December 2025.

Broos’ charges returned with a bronze medal during their last appearance at the AFCON after beating DR Congo 6-5 on penalties at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Côte d’Ivoire to claim third place in February last year.

The South African senior men’s team qualified for next year’s FIFA World Cup after beating Rwanda 3-0 in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, last week.

South African Football: Bafana Bafana reached the semi-finals of the 2000 AFCON.
