The cosmopolitan dining and upmarket lounge, Co.fi, launched its first coastal.
Located in Summerstrand’s Boardwalk Casino Crescent, a stone’s throw away from the beach. This location is ideal for Co.fi as it aligns with the brand’s unique offering of an experience that caters to all your senses.
Explaining the recent location, Director, Jackie Mathebe says: “This is an exciting time for us as Co.fi. Gqeberha is one of the growing markets in terms of tourism and development, with the added benefit of the Crescent being located 7min away from the airport. When the opportunity presented itself to expand into the coast, we realised that it was one that aligned with our brand and the overall vision of bringing the Co.fi experience to a modern market.”
This marks yet another milestone signaling a change of pace from their inland locations, complemented by a redesign of their traditional study and feel. Its recent location is a complete 360 in terms of design and offerings without compromising on the signature Co.fi brand and style.
According to Mathebe: “We felt that it was time for us to start sowing seeds outside of our comfort zone. Co.fi Gqeberha offers a completely different experience from our inland locations. We believe taken adventurous decisions in the design and layout of this location, blending the coastal feel with a more cosmopolitan survey. Our goal is to offer an experience that caters to all the senses.”
Inspiration has been drawn from the coastal surroundings, seen using brown hues alongside the simple Co.fi black and gold in the interior colour scheme. In addition to the recent colour palate, design elements maintain been introduced that symbolize the ocean’s waves. These modern design features seamlessly connect the scrutinize and feel of Co.fi to its surroundings.
In addition to paying close attention to design details, Co.fi has also introduced a current menu that includes a variety of seafood options. However, it will also offer African cuisines and a signature menu that will cater to international and local guests.
“The introduction of recent colour schemes in our interior is a conscious plod to bring the coastal feel indoors. Similarly, the seafood options on our menu are informed by the understanding that seafood is an integral portion of coastal food culture. In this way, we can cater to a wider market.” says Mathebe.
The crawl and changes are reflective of Co.fi’s flexibility while retaining the brand’s well-recognised identity and bringing a fresh product to an ever-changing market. This has made Co.fi highly adaptable in an industry that requires a firm understanding of what it takes to retain and attract clients.

PR Gets Real About Beauty: Not all memorable moments in PR’s history come from crises. In fact, one of the most popular campaigns of the modern era – Dove’s “Real Beauty” campaign – was simply about making us feel good! In 2004, Dove’s research found that only 2% of women consider themselves beautiful. “Real Beauty” aimed to change idealized depictions of beauty by using “real” women as spokespeople, models and more. Today, Dove has become synonymous with the campaign, and many other companies, such as CVS, Aerie and J. Crew, have jumped on the “Real Beauty” trend. (Source: Dove, Glamour)
