DA and ANC Neck and Neck

30 October 2026 by Guest

Statement by Ashor Sarupen – DA Federal Council Chairperson:

The latest polling, from IPSOS, has confirmed that the DA and ANC are now neck-and-neck nationally.

This confirms the DA’s own internal polling which last week put the DA and ANC just percentage points apart.

The gap has never been smaller, and the DA’s prospects to overtake the ANC are now very real. If every DA supporter comes out to vote DA on Wednesday, a sensational national outcome is possible.

Today the DA announced our readiness for tomorrow’s Final National Rally, to be held at Moretele Park, Mamelodi Tshwane.

With 5 days to go, to Election Day, the DA fully prepared and “all-systems-go” for this Rally, and the final days of this campaign.

The DA is holding this Final Rally in the Capital City of the Nation, because we mean business.

Tomorrow we will welcome over 10,000 supporters – to make the final pitch to South Africans.

As the DA sees this, tomorrow could well be the last closing Rally of an election campaign for the DA before we become the biggest party in South Africa.

Tomorrow, DA Leader Geordin Hill-Lewis will deliver the keynote address to supporters, and all South Africans.

There has not been a more crucial election, in recent memory, because the two biggest parties are now essentially approaching parity. And the two biggest parties have completely different offers and completely different track-records.

With the votes of all DA supporters, we will be able to form new governments in dozens of new places.

Don’t miss this chance. No one else can do it for you. Vote DA, to get service delivery where you live.

Nationally, the DA is now in striking distance of the ANC.

Fun South African Fact: It’s a holiday destination like no other! Looking for a beach holiday? South Africa has sunshine, sea and golden beaches. Seeking a safari adventure? South Africa is home to incredible wildlife and game reserves. Keen for an escape into wine country? South Africa’s Cape Winelands are waiting to be explored! On top of all of this, you can discover cosmopolitan cities and quaint seaside towns. Or, drive through breathtaking mountain passes and travel along dusty, desert roads.
