DA Celebrates 25th Birthday

23 June 2025 by Guest

Dear Editor

This week, the Democratic Alliance marks a major milestone: The 25th anniversary of the party’s founding, and 25 years of committed service to the people of South Africa.

On Tuesday, 24 June 2025, the Party will celebrate our 25th birthday – a quarter-century of political progress: From building a strong official opposition, to championing constitutional democracy, fighting for the rights of all South Africans, and governing at all three spheres of government.

To honour this occasion, the DA has launched a national Birthday Blanket Drive — a winter campaign to collect and distribute blankets to vulnerable communities across the country. The initiative aims to bring warmth and dignity to those who need it most during the coldest time of year.

Those who are able to donate blankets are invited to get involved by:

  • Dropping off blankets at any DA office nationwide; or
  • Donating online at https://BlanketDrive.da.org.za

On Tuesday DA Federal Leader John Steenhuisen will lead the first DA blanket handover event, with details to follow in a separate advisory.

Regards

Liza Albrecht
National Media Operations Manager
