Disgusting X-Post About Horrific North West Farm Attack

2 November 2026 by Guest

Statement by Desiree van der Walt MP – DA Spokesperson on Agriculture:

The DA will write to the National Chairperson of the South African Human Rights Commission, requesting an investigation into a deleted X-post appearing to come from Andile Mngxitama MP, of the MK Party, which used racial hate speech to justify the cutting off of a man’s ears.

It appears that yesterday Mr. Mngxitama abhorrently posted on his social media (X) that the survivor of a farm attack in the North West deserved to have his ears cut off because “land thieves” refuse to “listen.”

If this X-post is legitimate, its inflammatory hate speech has absolutely no place in a constitutional democracy, where incitement to imminent violence and harm is patently unconstitutional.

In doing things like this the MK party proves time and time again that they only want chaos and hate, and they place themselves as outcasts from our constitutional order and the rule of law.

In this post, on the face of it, Mngxitama does not even pretend to follow the law or apply the constitution, instead he uses politics to justify the attempted murder of a man, and the cutting off of his ears – a violent, horrific, and criminal act of torture and assault.

There is no place in South Africa for dog whistles like this which can lead to further violence as they advocate hatred, and incite hatred.

The DA will continue to defend the fundamental rights of every South African to live free from violence and intimidation.

Our Constitution protects the right to speak freely. It does not give anyone a licence to incite violence against others.
