Do Not Believe Social Media Alert Concerning Kempton Park Killer Moving

16 September 2026 by Guest

POTCHEFSTROOM – The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the North West has noted a message circulating on social media alleging that a suspect described as the “Kempton Park Serial Killer” has relocated to Potchefstroom and that an extensive police operation has been launched in the city.

The public is urged not to treat this circulating message as an official SAPS alert unless and until it is confirmed through SAPS communication channels.

At this stage, the Potchefstroom police has not found an official report or complaint confirming the specific claims contained in the circulating message, including the alleged relocation of a suspect to Potchefstroom, the alleged incident near the Bult, the description of the suspect, or claims regarding a mobile command centre, drones and specialised units.

The police in the North West is, however, aware of the serious investigations currently taking place in the Kempton Park area. Recent official police communication confirms that investigations into the deaths of women in Kempton Park are continuing. This does not, on its own, establish that a suspect connected to those investigations has relocated to Potchefstroom.

The North West Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Ryno Naidoo, appeals to members of the community to remain calm, vigilant and responsible when sharing information.

He said police understand the concern that a message of this nature can cause, particularly among residents and students. We appeal to the community not to spread unverified information or create unnecessary panic, because any genuine operational development or public safety warning will be communicated through official SAPS channels.

Members of the public are nevertheless encouraged to observe sensible personal-safety precautions, particularly after dark. SAPS safety guidance includes avoiding walking alone where possible, using well lit areas and remaining aware of one’s surroundings.

Residents and businesses who may have information relating to an actual criminal incident should report it to the police rather than attempting to investigate or confront any person themselves. In cases of emergency or reporting crime, contact 10111 or your local police station, while Crime Stop 08600 10111 can be used to provide information about criminal activity.

The public is further reminded that false or misleading information circulated through social media can cause unnecessary fear and divert police resources. SAPS has previously warned communities about the consequences of circulating unverified police related information.

Members of the public are encouraged to obtain police information directly from official SAPS communication platforms and to verify alarming messages before forwarding them.

Van is getting married, but he and his fiancee have never done the deed – in fact he\’s never been with any woman before. He\’s getting more and more nervous as the big day approaches, so he confides in his friend. His friend says \’No worries man. I\’ll come by the honeymoon suite before you guys get there, and I\’ll hide behind the curtain, and I\’ll whisper instructions to you.\’

    \’You\’d do that for me?\’

    \’Sure thing man!\’

So the wedding day arrives, it was a lovely service (so I was told, I wasn\’t there myself) and Van\’s friend sneaks into the honeymoon suite as promised and hides behind the curtain.

Van and his new wife arrive in the room, get settled on the bed, and things are getting steamy.

But Van is still super nervous and his tummy is bubbling, so he murmers to his wife, \’Listen babe, I\’m just gonna go to the bathroom quick. I think it\’s that wors roll from earlier.\’

    \’Sure thing babe.\’

So Van goes into the bathroom, and he\’s taking quite a long time. And his wife is starting to feel the nerves herself. And it\’s getting worse. She can\’t hold it in. But she doesn\’t want to go after he\’s gone and totally ruin the mood. So she looks around and finally finds a shoebox. Quickly, she does her business in the shoebox, and she shoves it under the bed just as Van comes back from the loo.

Van gets back on the bed and they go at it again. But after a minute or so Van smells something not so lekker.

    \’What\’s that smell?\’

\’Nothing babe,\’ he wife tries to assure him.

\’No man there\’s definitely something not so lekker in this room!\’VSo Van starts looking around the room, in the corners, in the cupboard, and finally he looks under the bed, and sees the shoebox.

He pull it out, and opens it up, and in horror he shouts \’Sies! Daar\’s kak in hierdie doos!\’

And from behind the curtain his friend yells, \’NEE MAN, DRAAI HAAR OM!\”

A Priest was seated next to Van Der Merwe on a flight to Brakpan.

After the plane was airborne, drink orders were taken.

Van Der Merwe asked for a Rum and Coke, which was brought and placed before him.

The flight attendant then asked the priest if he would like a drink.

He replied in disgust \”I\’d rather be savagely raped by a dozen whores than let liquor touch my lips.\”

Van Der Merwe then handed his drink back to the attendant and said \”Me too, I didn\’t know we had a choice.\”
