GRAMMY®-winning South African superstar Tyla’s two-city South Africa tour, proudly brought to you by Vodacom, together with leading local promoters Anything Goes and Showtime Management, and presented in association with KFM 94.5 and 947, is almost here! The ‘Water’ hitmaker’s first local tour since her meteoric rise to global stardom lands at Grand Arena, GrandWest, Cape Town on 5th December and SunBet Arena, Menlyn on 7th December. Shows begin at 7:30pm – and both are completely sold out!

Each show features a phenomenal line-up of support acts and guest artists. In Cape Town, support will be provided by ‘private school Amapiano’ DJ Kelvin Momo and singer-songwriter Daliwonga, with the latter also a guest artist in the show. Tyla will also welcome amapiano artist, Optimist and electro-Amapiano musician Ez Maestro on stage in the Grand Arena.

For the Pretoria show, Momo will again be one of the support acts, this time joined by R&B star Filah Lah Lah. Daliwonga, Optimist and Ez Maestro return as guest artists.

This exciting combination of acts ensures that Tyla’s fans – her ‘Tygas’ – can enjoy a wide range of chart-topping songs from genre-morphing artists whose passion supports the iconic singer’s own svelte musical style. Kelvin Momo was born in Soweto and adds elements of deep house, jazz and lounge music to a central core of Amapiano grooves. His hit ‘Amalobolo’ has nearly 13 million streams on Spotify. Daliwonga, also Soweto-born, was recently named the South African ambassador for the Diesel clothing brand and has a voice most often described as “velvet”. After finding fame on the Luu Nineleven hit ‘Friends with Benefits’, he’s built a huge following for his distinctive lyrics and performances. His biggest hit is ‘Abo Mvelo’

Optimist, also known as Optimist Music ZA, was raised in Mamelodi. Beginning as a rapper, inspired by the likes of Kendrick Lemar, he discovered a talent for singing at high school. A versatile performer, he sings in English, Tsonga and Sotho and has built on the Gold-certified Amapiano collaboration ‘French Kiss’ (alongside President Ya Flaka Dinho and DBN Gogo), released in 2020, to solidify his reputation as a star to watch. Ez Maestro brings a focus on electronic music to his brand of Amapiano, creating upbeat music with powerful beats and complex melodies. He’s featured – along with Optimist and Tony Duardo – on Tyla’s song ‘Shake Ah’ and fans will no doubt love seeing him recreate that contribution live. Singer and songwriter Filah Lah Lah, real name Reabetswe Fila Ranamane, was brought up to appreciate the profound worth of the output of soul greats Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and Betty Wright. After beginning a law degree, Ranamane released her first single, ‘Feels Like’ in 2019. She released her full debut album, ‘On Air’, in April 2024.

Tyla, now one of the greatest music success stories ever to come out of South Africa, is best-known for her viral smash ‘Water’. Throughout 2024, she has continued to add to an unbelievable list of accolades. In February, Tyla won the inaugural Best African Music Performance at the Grammys, and ‘Water’ made her the highest-charting female soloist ever on the US Hot 100 chart, peaking at #7. Tyla is also the youngest-ever South African and the first South African soloist to enter the Billboard Hot 100 in over 55 years. The track reached peaked at #1 on the Billboard Afrobeats Chart, Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart, Hot R&B Songs Chart and Adult R&B Airplay Charts in the US. Tyla scooped eight nominations at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) with recognition in several prestigious categories, including Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, and Top Afrobeats Artist. Tyla is tied in third place with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Teddy Swims, who all received eight nominations. The Billboard Music Awards are set to be held in Los Angeles on 12 December.

Tyla was also named winner of BET Awards for Best New Artist and Best International Act, as well as the winner of MTV VMA’s Best New Artist, as well as being nominated for a Brit Award, two iHeartRadio Music Awards and an Ivor Novello for Best Contemporary Song.

Tyla was a dominant presence at the South African Music Awards with seven nominations and three wins – Best Pop Album, Female Artist Of The Year and Newcomer Of The Year. Her debut album TYLA, released in March 2024, continues to be acclaimed for its blend of Amapiano, Afrobeats, contemporary R&B and pop, with a stellar cast of collaborators including Travis Scott, Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, Becky G widening the collection’s appeal still further.

As “South Africa’s brightest new star” (NME) and “The perfect Amapiano ambassador” (Rolling Stone), Tyla has graced stages around the world, playing to hundreds of thousands of fans across North America and Europe, including performing at Louis Vuitton’s pre-Olympics party in Paris, as well as stunning performances at the Lollapalooza and Outside Lands festivals.

She is an exceptional talent, not to be missed live on stage. Get ready, as the critically acclaimed ‘Queen of Popiano’, comes home to her Tygas.
