Huge AWS outage knocks online services in South Africa – Hypertext | SA News

  • In what looks like a major global outage, an issue with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is affecting how South Africans use the internet.
  • AWS says it is exploring multiple methods to resolve the issue and may have already identified the problem.
  • It is yet another example of how the internet is hinged on a small number of corporations.

According to AWS, it has begun recovery and users worldwide can expect services to begin returning to normal.
