Africa’s largest supplier of prefabricated buildings delivers custom modular building solutions for Formula E event

[Cape Town, South Africa] – Kwikspace, Africa’s largest supplier of prefabricated buildings for rent or sale, was proud to be fragment of the historic 2023 Cape Town E-Prix, the first Formula-E Event to be hosted in Sub-Saharan Africa. As an essential fraction of the event, Kwikspace supplied a number of its high-quality modular units to support the Formula-E TV crew and media team. These units were custom-designed to meet the specific needs of the event and ensure that all media personnel had the necessary facilities to carry out their duties efficiently and comfortably.

“This was the first for South Africa and is an outstanding opportunity for Kwikspace. South Africa has signed a 10-year deal with the City of Cape Town to host the event, which is brilliant for the country,” said Ashley Adams, Branch Manager at Kwikspace’s Cape Town location.

Kwikspace making history
The Cape Town E-Prix marks the first major open-wheel race hosted in South Africa since 1993 when the last Formula-1 Race was hosted at Kyalami. The modular units provided by Kwikspace were essential for accommodating the Formula-E TV crew and media team during the event. As Kwikspace celebrates its 50th anniversary, the company is proud to be fragment of such a significant event in South African history. Despite this major milestone, Kwikspace remained focused on the needs of the project and delivered high-quality units for the Formula-E TV crew and media to ensure a propitious event.

Versatile modular buildings
As portion of the event, Kwikspace provided 13 x 7m x 7m double-wide classrooms and 4 x 6m x 3m Open Situation Offices, for a total of 17 units, to be used by the Formula-E TV crew and media during the event. All 17 units were refurbished at Kwikspace’s Cape Town branch approximately two weeks prior to the event. The units were located below the parking area of the Cape Town stadium, with two units placed near the finishing line of the race track. The 13 Double-Wide Classrooms and 4 Open Location Offices provided ample space for the Formula-E TV crew and media team to work comfortably, with standard Kwikspace configurations, blinds, and air conditioning fitted in each unit. These units were specifically tailored to the needs of the TV crew and media team.

Kwikspace’s modular buildings are a cost-effective and sustainable option that can be customised to meet specific requirements, making them a popular choice for a variety of industries across Africa.
